Dr Raj Dhami

Dr Balraj Dhami, known as Raj, graduated top of his year from the University of Manchester in 2003 with Honours. During his studies he was awarded the SOMANDA Prize for outstanding achievement in his examinations.

In 2012, Raj was awarded an MSc with Distinction in Restorative Dental Practice from the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute at UCL. This advanced training enables him to treat more complex and challenging restorative cases with a high degree of precision and consistently successful outcomes.

Having also completed a certificate in Implant Dentistry, Raj is able to provide implant treatment alongside the full range of routine and complex dental care required by his patients.

Raj has been a Principal Dentist at Sutton Dental Care since 2015 and has over 20 years experience providing high-quality private dental care.

He has a strong passion for dentistry and takes great pride in caring for his patients. Raj is committed to continuing professional development and regularly attends postgraduate courses to ensure he remains at the forefront of modern dental techniques and treatments, particularly in the management of complex restorative cases.

Raj is also recognised as a leading dental expert witness in the UK, providing reports and testimony for the dental regulator as well as indemnity organisations. In addition, he serves as a Clinical Advisor for Denplan Excel, assessing practices to ensure they attain and maintain Denplan Excel accreditation, and as a Clinical Advisor for NHS England.

Raj is married to Amita, who also joined Sutton Dental Care as a Principal Dentist in 2015. They have two children and have lived in Sutton Coldfield for over 20 years. Outside of dentistry, Raj enjoys sport and is currently working on improving his tennis serve.
